Thousands of people in Berlin are looking for an apartment. This series of interviews sheds light on their situation. 10 families share their experiences, concerns, and challenges, and together they try to find solutions to the housing crisis. Commissioned by the city of Berlin.

No flexibility without apartments
Melina lives in Schöneberg with two children - her partner lives in Neukölln. Both are looking for an apartment together where the children live. But there are too few apartments and therefore too few opportunities to flexibly change the realities of life.
From Hamburg to Berlin on a temporary basis
Nina has moved to Berlin to study psychology. She has an apartment for a year. At least. Is that enough time to get a permanent tenancy agreement?
Moving in with your best friend
Berlin-born Khalid wants to fulfill a childhood dream - and move in with his sandpit friend. So far, the search for a suitable apartment has been unsuccessful. And neither of them are picky: even dripping taps in an old building wouldn't put them off.
